How pricing works

Stump grinding is priced per job after we look at it in person. The things that move the price are the diameter of each stump, how many there are, the wood and root spread, and how easy the spot is to reach with the grinder.

You get one firm number in writing before anything starts. That's the number you pay — and you pay after the work is done and you've walked the job with us.

Common questions

How deep do you grind a stump?

Typically 4–6 inches below grade, which is deep enough to put down soil and sod or plant grass over the spot. If you need it deeper for something specific, tell us at the estimate.

What happens to the wood chips?

Your choice. We can rake the grindings back into the hole — they settle over time and make good fill — or haul them off for an added fee. We price both at the estimate.

Will the stump grow back?

Grinding below grade removes the part of the stump that sprouts. Some species can still send up suckers from roots that run far out; if that happens, mowing them down usually ends it.

Do you remove the tree too?

We focus on stumps. If the tree is already down, we can also haul off the brush and logs as a junk & debris job.

Do I need to be home?

Not usually, as long as we can reach the stumps and the utilities are marked. We'll walk the finished job with you before you pay.
